    Bring in MP4, WebM, or MOV footage, or continue from an image-to-animation preview already in the workspace.

    Set in and out points, scrub frame by frame, and loop the selected range to check timing.

    Set frame count, output dimensions, export formats, and optional transparency processing.

Trim and sample

Export the useful motion, not every frame in the source

Choose a focused interval, step through it, and control how many output frames represent that duration. This is useful for removing lead-in, unstable transitions, or unnecessary recovery footage.

  • Frame-by-frame stepping for close inspection.
  • In and out points for clip selection.
  • Loop preview for repeating motions.
  • Frame-count and output-size limits remain visible before export.

Optional transparency

Background removal is a processing choice

When the source has a removable background, AnimGen can use color key or matting during frame export. Alpha matting is an optional refinement. Inspect the result: complex hair, motion blur, shadows, and similar colors can affect edge quality.

  • Use color key for a deliberate, sufficiently distinct background color.
  • Use matting when the background is not a clean chroma key.
  • Treat transparency as an output-processing step, not as guaranteed alpha preservation from generation.
  • Review edges against both light and dark backgrounds before shipping.

Which video formats can I import?

The current web workflow accepts MP4, WebM, and MOV imports. Browser decoding and the actual media encoding can still affect whether a particular file can be previewed.

Do I have to generate the video in AnimGen first?

No. You can import supported footage directly, or continue from a generated image-to-animation preview in the same workspace.

Does the sprite sheet include frame data?

The sprite sheet export includes a PNG plus JSON metadata. Engine-ready packages are also available for Unity, Godot 4, Unreal Paper2D, and Cocos Creator.

Will background removal always be clean?

No. Color similarity, shadows, fine details, compression, and motion blur all influence the result. Select the suitable method and inspect the exported alpha before production use.
